As the Mechanical Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Leader for VantTec's Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) team, I orchestrated critical simulation-based engineering initiatives that defined our vehicle's structural and hydrodynamic performance. This leadership position challenged me to apply advanced theoretical concepts to real-world marine robotics while guiding a talented engineering team through complex technical obstacles in pursuit of competition excellence.

My primary focus centered on ensuring the UUV's structural integrity through comprehensive FEA modeling and validation. The analysis frameworks I established enabled our team to confidently predict mechanical behavior under varied loading scenarios, ensuring both safety and performance were maintained throughout our design iterations.

The hydrodynamic performance of our UUV represented another critical area where my CFD leadership directly impacted vehicle capabilities. Through detailed fluid flow simulations and iterative design refinements, I directed work that reduced the vessel's drag coefficient and redesigned the control surface geometry, ultimately enhancing maneuverability while optimizing energy consumption for extended mission duration.

Beyond technical analysis, my role demanded effective team leadership and knowledge dissemination. I managed a specialized team of five simulation engineers, establishing structured workflows and implementing rigorous validation protocols that elevated our collective capabilities. By creating comprehensive training materials and facilitating regular technical reviews, I fostered an environment of continuous improvement and engineering excellence that strengthened our team's competitive advantage in international UUV competitions.
